AOPP Portal Support Extended to Blockstream Jade Hardware Wallets

Blockstream Jade is now supported by the AOPP Portal

With the latest 21 Travel Rule update, AOPP Portal has extended its support to include Jade, the open-source hardware wallet developed by Blockstream.

VASPs and their customers can quickly and securely verify ownership of Jade wallets via the AOPP Portal. This integration helps VASPs meet self-hosted wallet verification requirements while maintaining a secure and streamlined experience for customers.

Why Support Jade

Jade is a Bitcoin-focused hardware wallet designed to protect users' private keys through offline storage. Blockstream's Jade devices use an open-source security model and are designed to keep keys away from direct internet exposure, providing users with greater control over their Bitcoin.

By integrating Jade into the growing list of AOPP-supported wallets, VASPs using 21 Travel Rule can provide customers with a straightforward way to verify ownership of their self-hosted Bitcoin wallets before transacting.

The integration also supports a more seamless compliance process for VASPs, allowing wallet ownership proofs to be generated and managed through the existing 21 Travel Rule workflow.

Blockstream Jade and the AOPP Portal

After a customer has initiated their transaction via their exchanges’s dashboard, a unique proof is requested. The customer then follows the instructions to connect their wallet and prove ownership of the relevant address.

Once the verification is completed, the proof is automatically returned and recorded in the 21 Travel Rule software, where the compliance team can view the proof in the 21 Travel Rule Compliance Dashboard.

Compliance with Minimal Efforts

By adding Jade to AOPP Portal's growing range of supported self-hosted wallets, VASPs can provide customers with a fast and secure method of proving wallet ownership without relying on more cumbersome verification processes such as manual signing.

The AOPP Portal uses cryptographic signatures to generate wallet ownership proofs, helping VASPs establish a verifiable link between a customer and their self-hosted wallet address.

For Jade users, this means that ownership verification can be incorporated into the existing transaction workflow without requiring customers to compromise the security principles of their self-custody setup.

The AOPP Portal now supports 540+ wallets, covering digital assets across Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Chain, Solana, TRON, Polygon, Avalanche, Gnosis, Arbitrum and Optimism.
