Verify Ownership for Optimism-based Addresses with AOPP

21 Analytics’ Travel Rule solution now supports self-hosted wallet verification for Optimism- based addresses through the AOPP Portal, enabling VASPs to quickly and securely verify self-hosted wallet ownership when customers transact on Optimism.

Why Support Optimism?

AOPP Portal support has been extended to include Optimism, an Ethereum Layer 2 network designed to enable fast, scalable and cost-efficient transactions.

Its growing ecosystem, with more than 50 chains built using the OP Stack, reflects increasing adoption of Optimism-based infrastructure across applications and digital asset activity.

The OP Stack also enables organisations to launch independent, interoperable Layer 2 networks connected through the Superchain, further expanding the ecosystem and the range of assets and applications operating within it.

For VASPs, supporting Optimism helps ensure that customers can transact across an increasingly important Ethereum Layer 2 environment without introducing unnecessary friction into the compliance process.

Optimism and the AOPP Portal

After a customer has initiated their transaction via their exchanges’s dashboard, a unique proof is requested. The customer then follows the instructions to connect their wallet and prove ownership of the relevant address.

Once the verification is completed, the proof is automatically returned and recorded in the 21 Travel Rule software, and the compliance team can view the proof in the 21 Travel Rule Compliance Dashboard.

With the recent Optimism support, VASPs can now extend the same streamlined wallet verification process AOPP offers to customers who own Optimism-based assets.

Instead of relying on manual signing or other potentially disruptive verification methods, customers can follow a simple proof link to demonstrate ownership of their wallet.

For VASPs, the process can be automated and integrated into existing Travel Rule workflows.

The AOPP Portal supports digital assets native to Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Chain, TRON, Polygon, Solana, Avalanche, Gnosis, and Arbitrum, and other supported blockchain networks. Moreover, by leveraging ISO 24165, more than 2800 digital assets are supported.
