8.2.0
21 Travel Rule Version 8.2.0 introduces a range of usability, workflow, and compliance enhancements designed to streamline day-to-day Travel Rule operations. The release focuses on improving efficiency, simplifying key processes, and providing users with greater visibility and control across their compliance workflows.
- Address Ownership Portal Improvements: Significant user experience enhancements for Ledger devices, improved Satoshi Test handling, and clearer proof management.
- Enhanced Audit Trails and Data Management: Historical counterparty VASP data is now retained even when a VASP is removed from the network registry, preserving audit trails and due diligence history.
- Improved TRUST and Counterparty Handling: Improved counterparty VASP due-diligence workflows and user-facing error messages.
Address Ownership Portal Improvements
The Address Ownership Portal received several updates aimed at simplifying the verification process and reducing friction for end users.
This includes:
- Improved Ledger hardware wallet interactions.
- Expired Satoshi Test Proofs are now explicitly marked within the interface for clearer tracking.
- A shortcut has been added allowing expired Satoshi Tests to be reattempted with one-click.
- Additional safeguards have been introduced, now validation checks are in place that block the submission of Satoshi Test base amounts that fall below operational thresholds.
Portal branding settings were also expanded, allowing firms to customise portal themes and logos directly from the settings menu.
Enhanced Audit Trails and Data Management
To support stronger compliance recordkeeping, historical counterparty data is now retained even when a VASP is removed from the TRUST network registry. Removed counterparties are now clearly marked as “REMOVED” rather than deleted entirely, preserving audit trails and due diligence history.
Additionally, customer wallet address updates now automatically synchronise with the global address directory, reducing manual administration.
Improved TRUST and Counterparty Handling
Several improvements were made to TRP-related workflows and transaction handling.
User-facing feedback and error messaging have been refined to provide clearer guidance when issues such as legal personality mismatches occur during protocol exchanges.
